AMICI, Italian and Brazilian Cinema

Associado: Olhar Feminino

Amici is a five episode TV Series that has as main locations the cities of Rio de Janeiro/São Paulo and Rome and deals with the relation of the Italian Neo Realism with Brazilian Cinema, when Brazilian filmmakers such as Gustavo Dahl, Paulo Cesar Saraceni, were studying at the Centro Sperimentale and met SandroFranchina, Marco Bellochio, Gianni Amico and Bernardo Bertolucci, already in the process of being assistant director in the film Accatone by Pier Paolo Pasolini, and they all created a secret sect, a friendship without borders between the Brazilian and Italian cinema, stimulating the birth of new cycles as Cinema Novo in the 60’s and Cinema Marginal in the 70’s, in Brazil.
