Cinema do Brasil heads for Marché du Film
A delegation of more than 40 Brazilian audiovisual companies is participating at Marché du Film, in Cannes
Marché du Film takes place between May 14th and 23rd, during Festival de Cannes, and is considered as the most important audiovisual market in the world.
Cinema do Brasil, which has been promoting the internationalization of Brazilian cinema for 13 years, once again will be present with its booth within the ambitious Palais des Festivals, the address of the Marché du Film in Cannes, in the South of France. The stand of Cinema do Brasil is considered as the Brazilian audiovisual embassy in Cannes, where all who are interested in Brazil and its audiovisual production meet.
According to Simoni de Mendonça, president of São Paulo State Audiovisual Industry Association (SIAESP), “The results of Cinema do Brasil actions, throughout its 14 years of operation, can be seen in the results of the selection of the Festival de Cannes: Record of 7 Brazilian films selected in 5 different sections, with two films competing in the main competition. In addition, Brazil participated in 5 selected international co-productions.
Cinema do Brasil is participating at Marché du Film 2019 with a delegation of over 65 Brazilian film professionals representing 40 companies. Cinema do Brasil is developing a series of strategic actions in form of co-production meetings and networking events aiming at promotion and internationalisation of Brazilian audiovisual sector, as well as encouraging new cooperation opportunities in the film industry.

Cinema do Brasil is a private association of audiovisual industry professionals in Brazil. It was funded in 2016 by the São Paulo State Audiovisual Industry Association (SIAESP) and currently represents 180 member-companies. It aims at internationalisation of Brazilian film industry by promoting co-productions and boosting participation of Brazilian films at international festivals, therewith supporting their worldwide distribution.
The association acts in five main areas: information, training, promotion, access to markets and circulation. Cinema do Brasil activities in these areas are realised by organizing and promoting business meetings in Brazil and abroad, establishing strategic partnerships and participating in the main international markets: Berlin, Cannes, Locarno, Toronto, San Sebastian, Buenos Aires and others.
